Launch of the Climate Vulnerability Monitor 2nd Edition

September 2012, The Climate Vulnerability Monitor 2nd Edition was launched at the Asia Society in New York during the United Nations General Assembly.

Commons Consultants was key advisor to DARA International on the production of the 2nd edition of the Climate Vulnerability Monitor. The Monitor reveals that climate change has already held back global development and inaction is causing significant damage and suffering. Commissioned by the world's most vulnerable countries and backed by high-level and technical panels, the new Monitor estimates human and economic impacts of climate change and the carbon economy for 184 countries in 2010 and 2030, across 34 indicators.

"Growth and Jobs" - research report for NGO Forum Denmark.

April 2012, NGO FORUM Denmark published the Commons Consultants report on how NGOs can work with the private sector and other partners to promote growth and jobs in developing countries. The report builds on interviews and a survey of Danish civil society organisations. The report also contains a review of international experience with interventions to promote growth and jobs that are consistent with high environmental and social standards.

"Global Issues Leadership" - organisational review for German Federal Finance Ministry

December 2012, Commons Consultants recently completed an assignment for the German Federal Ministry of Finance to provide management consulting on strategic adaptation to dynamic changes in the international financial policy environment. The assignment included extensive analysis, benchmarking and scenario development.

 

Launch of the WindMade initiative

18 November 2011, Leading global brands signed up for new WindMade label at a launch event in New York. WindMade is the first global consumer label identifying corporations and products made with wind energy. WindMade is a partnership created by Vestas Wind Systems, The Global Wind Energy Council, WWF, the LEGO Group, the UN Global Compact, PricewaterhouseCoopers and Bloomberg (New Energy Finance).

Commons Consultants has advised on the establishment of the WindMade organization, and the development of the WindMade labeling programme.

Global Alliance for Chronic Diseases pre-announces first joint research activity on hypertension

4 January 2011 - The Global Alliance for Chronic Diseases today announced the upcoming launch of its first Request for Applications (RFA) which will be on Implementation Research on Hypertension in Low and Middle income countries.

Launch of the Climate Vulnerability Monitor

DARA International and Climate Vulnerable Forum launch groundbreaking report with Commons Consultants as research and production partner.

London, 3 DECEMBER 2010 - DARA, a leading humanitarian research organisation, and the Climate Vulnerable Forum, a group of committed most vulnerable countries, today launch a major new global report on the state of the climate crisis. The "Climate Vulnerability Monitor" reveals distinct vulnerabilities in 184 countries and all regions of the world to short term impacts of climate change just as the slow search for an international deal to tackle longer term global warming continues at the UN climate summit in Cancun, Mexico (COP16).
